Armed Forces Day (25th June 2016)

  • Saturday 25th June saw the 11th Armed Forces Day held at the Royal Green in Lowestoft where 31 stands and displays were set up around the arena providing entertainment and displays throughout the day.

Stand Easy were in attendance with a stall hosting the “Play Your Cards Right” game and a Marble skill game to challenge youngsters.

The stand was run from 1000hrs to 1600hrs by Colin Makepeace, a Veteran who has been helped by Stand Easy, his wife Janice, daughter Joanne and son in law Dan. The marble game was hosted by Issy (Colin`s Granddaughter) who chose to come along and support the cause on her ninth birthday.

The ‘Body Shop’ worked from the stall providing foot, head and hand massages. All their donations were given to the Stand Easy charity.

Everyone had a great day and many people stopped to ask about the charity, leaflets were given to those who enquired either for themselves or family members. The Mayor visited the stand and agreed that the charity was providing a beneficial service.

Once again close contact with the Lowestoft branch of the Royal British Legion saw us work together with setting up the stall and the gazebo, which was loaned to us by the Royal British Legion for the day, and they have kindly offered it to us for further use in the future.

At the end of the day £142.50 was raised and we would like to thank the two Michele`s from the Body Shop for their support.

We have a date for 2017 and we are looking forward to attending this event again.
